Ruellia humilis (Prairie Petunia)
Also known as Fringeleaf Wild Petunia, Hairy Ruellia, Low Wild Petunia, Low Ruellia, Fringeleaf Ruellia.
Prairie Petunia sports showy lavender to purple flowers in the heat of the summer. It is short and has a sprawling growth habit. It can reach 2 ft but usually stays under 1 ft tall. It reseeds readily.
Prairie Petunia is a host plant and a wonderful addition to perennial beds or borders, naturalized areas and woodland gardens.
