Gaura is a taprooted perennial which tolerates heat, humidity and some drought. Deadhead to prolong bloom period. Trim as needed if the flowering stems become leggy or too big. Plants benefits from close planting or support from adjacent perennial.
Gaura typically grows 2-3' tall. Flowers appear in open panicles, blooming several at a time over a long spring to autumn bloom time. Flowers open in early morning. If cut back midsummer, gaura will regrow and bloom again in fall.
