Goldenball Leadtree is a deciduous large shrub or small multi-trunked tree with bright, sweet-smelling golden-yellow puffball blooms. Its bark is flaky and cinnamon color. Its foliage is airy and open enough to allow plants grow underneath. It is very drought-tolerant and should not be over-watered. It is adaptable to various soils, but needs good drainage. It grows well in rocky soil and can withstand reflected heat.

Goldenball Leadtree is a lovely ornamental tree that resembles acacia, but without the thorns. Like Desert Willow, it tends to bloom after rainfall. Blooms are followed by seedpods.
